What class on archaeology would be complete without a simulated dig. Although a site cannot be brought to the classroom, this method is used to demonstrate excavation techniques that are applied to "real" sites. Here students will be given a dig box in which they will employ archaeological techniques to remove the soil and recover artifacts. The artifacts they find, that each student can then take home and share with their family.
